Although this neighbourhood does not overlook the ocean, there are still some great water views along Long Lake. Not only does the lake offer some beautiful views but it is a popular area for residents in the summertime. Uplands is a well established neighbourhood in the city and is probably one of the most unique when it comes to the landscape. Not only are there beautiful views of Long Lake but there are also some beautiful tree-lined streets. The area was first developed back in the 70s and then again in the 90s so there is a good mixture of different home times. Home prices are moderate and because of the unique landscape, potential homeowner could find some larger properties for sale. The Uplands area is also close to the Island Highway, which means you can be in Downtown Nanaimo in just a few minutes.
